Irish’s Top 5 television shows that should have never been cancelled......

1) Firefly,

Created by Joss Whedon it’s a space western television series that takes place in the year 2517. It follows the lives of the crew members on a ship called Serenity, most of them are ex soldiers who fought for the losing side of a civil war while others are people just trying to survive on the outskirts of the society. The show itself was amazing and its cancellation a major disappointment to its fans, the public outcry was so severe that it was allowed a moderately budgeted movie titled Serenity. If you enjoy classic science fiction or just amazing shows in general Firefly is a must see.

2)  Jericho,

A show that followed the lives of the people from a small town in the state of Kansas after 23 major American cities are suffer nuclear attacks. The show has a truly amazing and unique story line as well as great acting and plot development, after being cancelled in March 2008 a fan campaign that took place was able to bring the show back for a second season consisting of seven episodes it was then cancelled again in November 2008 but in 2009 there were rumours of a movie project to be in the works. In my opinion Jericho was a truly amazing show and should never have been cancelled without a full second season.

 3) John Doe,

A very interesting show that aired on fox from 2002-2003 it followed the life of a man who mysteriously woke up on an island having retrograde amnesia, he had lost all of his memories of who he was or where he came from but in turn was able to know every answer to every question. The series ended after only one season on a cliff hanger ending however unlike Firefly and Jericho no amount of fan pleads were able to get John Doe a second season leaving several questions unanswered.

 4) DollHouse,

Another Joss Whedon show about an organization that was able to program humans to be anyone you wanted, providing you have enough money to afford it. The show had peaked my interests from the start but I will admit that about 3 episodes into the second season I had lost all interest and stopped watching, then why has it made my list? Well that would be because after being cancelled in 2009 the final episode aired was actually one from the 3rd season and it showed us the direction that the show was heading in and after watching the episode I once again found myself wanting more.  I might also add that Firefly, John Doe, and Dollhouse were all cancelled by the Fox network it appears they have a tendency of cancelling great shows.

 5) Flash Forward,

Based off of a novel by writer Robert Sawyer, This was a show about the entire world featuring a simultaneous blackout for 2 minutes and 17 seconds but in this time they saw a glimpse of their future. The show follows several characters as they all try to figure out what happened, why it happened, and more importantly will it happen again? The show had an interesting concept and a cliff hanger ending which I believe at the very least deserved a second season but alas in June 2010 ABC announced that they will not be renewing flashforward for another season.

I would like to remind you all that these are my top 5 choices, if you have any comments we would love too hear about them.  I would also like to add a note that Stargate Universe would be on the list, however currently the show has just been dropped from the Sci-Fi  network (I refuse to call it SyFy) and I am still hoping that it will be picked up for a third season. SGU is currently one of my favorite television shows to date, it is in my opinion one of the best Stargate series and it deserves more than the two seasons it may have.
