Movie Sequels That (Almost) Killed My Inner Child

Like most, my childhood strived on three things: ice cream, whimsy, and action movies. But alas, children grow up, die a little inside and learn that the world is a terrible, terrible place full of crazy people. The only thing that saves us from breaking down and weeping is that little sparkle of joy that keeps you appreciating free candy, silly putty, and wearing no pants. The inner child is the little guy that says it’s still okay to have mindless unadulterated fun.

Now my inner child is my best friend, and I used to think nothing would ever tear us apart. But then these movies made sequels. And the bastards almost killed him. They almost killed him dead.

Irish’s Top 5 television shows that should have never been cancelled......

1) Firefly,

Created by Joss Whedon it’s a space western television series that takes place in the year 2517. It follows the lives of the crew members on a ship called Serenity, most of them are ex soldiers who fought for the losing side of a civil war while others are people just trying to survive on the outskirts of the society. The show itself was amazing and its cancellation a major disappointment to its fans, the public outcry was so severe that it was allowed a moderately budgeted movie titled Serenity. If you enjoy classic science fiction or just amazing shows in general Firefly is a must see.

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome! Here at This Train Has Sailed you’ll find the witty ramblings of two handsome gentlemen living in the city of Toronto. We’ll be covering such pop culture topics as movies, video games and even politics if we’re feeling ambitious (we won’t be). Updates might be slow in the beginning as we inherently have little motivation, but hopefully as we get into the swing of it things will pick up.

Cheers,
Irish and Rusty.
